We will unfortunately not be accepting an intake of students for any programs in August 2022. This decision was not an easy one, and we share in the deep disappointment of many of the applicants who had hoped to join our community this year. We apologize for the change, but have faith that it is the right decision for our team to focus on our current students, graduates, and our next season of growth.
We are proud to announce that this forthcoming season includes the development of our long-awaited Bachelor’s degrees. We are excited to enroll our next classes into our new programs in the coming years, and will continue to share updates with our community as we begin this chapter in our institution’s evolution.
Campus Life
Davis College offers an active campus life that provides opportunities for professional and personal growth. Students join clubs, compete in startup competitions, and run for student government. Off campus, they complete internships, participate in conferences, and volunteer in their communities.
Career Focus
We work closely with private sector partners to develop a competency-based curriculum, meaning students graduate with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the workplace with global companies like Marriott International, Radisson Blu, Impact Hub, Kate Spade, MTN, and more. Our alumnae have launched their careers in a wide range of industries and sectors, including technology, government, nonprofit, alternative energy, ecotourism, hospitality, finance, agriculture, and more.
Programs
Davis College offers two-year diplomas in Business Management & Entrepreneurship, Information Systems, and Hospitality & Tourism Management.
When they graduate, those female students who have studied in an all-female classroom are awarded diplomas from Davis College, along with Women’s Leadership Certificates in recognition of their participation in the Akilah Women’s Center.
Female Leadership
Davis College offers female students the choice to study in an all-female classroom. By choosing to study in an all-female classroom, those students will gain access to the Akilah Women’s Center, while taking advantage of all of Davis College’s resources and opportunities.
Our all-female classrooms offer a supportive space where students can maximize their personal and professional potential. They gain the confidence and agency to transform their communities.
Davis College offers students the opportunity to participate in challenging programs that push them to apply concepts learned in class to real-world scenarios at partner organizations ranging from multinational corporations to innovative grassroots organizations.
Students utilize the rich resources in their city, attending work sessions, collaborating with civic organizations, and engaging with prominent cultural figures. This programming is designed to deepen understanding of academic material and reinforce practical skills, while cultivating vital character traits like empathy, resilience, and accountability.
Students are required to complete a three-month internship before their graduation. The Davis College Careers Team helps students evaluate their skills and interests so they can set meaningful career goals, and assists them in identifying opportunities within our vast partner network.
Our graduates gain the skills necessary for professional success in the 21st Century, leading critical conversations and push forward ideas that promote women’s empowerment, climate action, clean energy solutions, smart city innovation, and more. They drive change in their families, communities, and countries.
How We Teach: Competency-Based Education
CBE is an outcomes-based, student-centered approach to learning that leads to earning a degree by proving mastery of specific competencies, rather than completing credit hours.

Defining ‘Competencies’
Every course we teach is aligned with a specific set of core or program competencies. The core competencies span everything from digital literacy, to leadership and social responsibility, to career navigation, to self-esteem, with specific indicators to measure change.
Our Programs
We currently offer the following two-year diplomas programs at Davis College: Business Management & Entrepreneurship, Hospitality & Tourism Management, and Information Systems.
Career Development
Our curriculum effectively prepares students for the workforce because we collaborate with regional employers and industry experts to identify exactly what students need to know. Our courses are continuously updated to reflect the latest industry and workforce trends. As soon as students demonstrate they have mastered a particular concept or skill, they can advance to the next level. This way, students receive a tailored approach to learning and career preparation.
Demonstrated Success
86% of alumnae are employed within six months of graduation.
61% of graduates have received at least one promotion in position and/or salary since graduating, and 43% of them are in supervisory roles.
63% of alumnae are outperforming their peers in their workplaces (according to surveyed employers).
